Oostzee tjalk (type of sailing barge, built for the Baltic) the Linquenda was built in 1916 as a freighter. The ship transported wood from Riga; the Baltic Sea was its sailing area. The Linquenda is a stable sailing boat, even in heavy weather she will bring you safely, quickly and comfortably where you want to be.
The dimensions of the Linquenda, 25 meters long and 5 meters wide, were -and are- perfect for the role of the ship. She picks up speed on open water such as the Baltic Sea, the IJsselmeer and on the Frisian lakes. She is stabilized by her own weight but she's still quite manoeuvreable to be easily guided through the many locks and canals in the waterways.
This ship requires some effort on the part of its guests to make the most of a sailing holiday. Sailing experience is not required. Enthusiasm is. But who would not be keen to join in in sailing the ship? And in such lovely surroundings: between the water surface and the clouds. A sense of belonging, enjoying the moment.
Linquenda is available for groups and can serve as a special location for an event, holiday sailing, day trips or teambuilding trip. The ship is perfect as a luxurious floating hotel, for a meeting on the water, a workshop location or as a special bed and breakfast address. There is plenty of space - including accommodation - for 18 people. For daytrip sailing you can invite 36 guests. The ship is suitable for (small) children and has its own AED (for the elderly ...).
And Skipper Jan Dooyes gives you a warm welcome!
