And anyone can sail! If you have no experience sailing, no problem. The crew will ensure that you can help hoisting the sails, controlling the sheets and steering the ship, all fully supervised.
On board the 'Nieuwe Maen' you can enjoy the beautiful Zeeland streams. The home port of Zierikzee. On the IJsselmeer you can sail from Lelystad, Hoorn, Enkhuizen, Makkum or Den Oever, depending on your destination.
The 'Nieuwe Maen' was built in 1891 and was used as a sailing freighter for transporting bricks. In 2011 captain Gaby Koomen bought the ship and ever since she has sailed as skipper / owner with the 'Nieuwe Maen' on the Zeeland waters, the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea. This One mast clipper is a comfortable chartership, remodeled and adapted according to the latest standards on safety and comfort for both individual passengers and groups.
